In the automotive world, there aren't many problems that better components won't solve. We all know that a big-block powered Chevelle is a hell of a car. But when you add a modern interior and air bags, it becomes a lust worthy machine that'll please any crowd anywhere. This killer 1970 Chevelle packs 454 cubic inches and a show worthy suspension into one of the most compelling pieces of Chevy muscle we've seen in a long time., This custom Chevelle was repainted a stunning shade of red, complete with a set of barely-there ghost flames above the front wheels. The cars California body is laser straight and the gaps are as close to perfect as you can get. This Chevelle gets instant attention wherever it goes. The chrome bumpers and all of the trim is just about show quality, and looks great against the cars red paint. Between the headlights, a traditional black Chevelle grille stands out against the cars chrome and displays a pristine white “SS' grille emblem. The with chrome side mirrors to add form and function while original style “SS' front fender emblems sit above red “454' scripts. Sitting at all four corners are Nitto tires and Coy chrome wheels (20' rear and 18' front)., While the “454' fender emblems might be subtle, the big block motor under this cars hood is anything but. You might want to put on a pair of sunglasses before opening the hood. This baby shines! Up top you will see the polished air cleaner, chrome power booster and master cylinder, chrome fuel pump, and chrome ends on the hoses. The polished aluminum radiator and A/C condensor are complete with a chrome cover. The A/C condensor is also chrome, and the air blows ice cold through the Vintage Air system. The alternator also has a chrome cover. An Edelbrock Performer Intake and Edelbrock carburetor, MSD HEI distributor, MSD wires, jet coated Hooker headers and a new Optima battery are sitting between the beautifully painted inner fenders, shaved firewall and hood. The engine bay looks truly spectacular., Backing the 454 is a super durable Turbo 400 automatic transmission. These transmissions have bulletproof reliability and are the choice of many builders when it comes to high horsepower engines. Power flows from that TH400 to an infamous GM 12 bolt posi-traction rear end. This Chevelle was equipped with custom Airtech Air Ride Suspension, and no matter what kind of stance you put on this car, it looks awesome. Up front you have drop spindles and new ball joints. Four wheel disc brakes with new brake lines, cross drilled and slotted rotors, and Aerospace Component 4 piston Billet calipers at the front and rear provide excellent braking and handling. Fuel is sent to the motor from the new gas tank, through new fuel lines. The exhaust system starts at 3' at the headers, and ends up at 2.5' out the back. The floors and frame of this Chevelle are solid, free of any pitting or rust. The rockers look to be original, and the pinch welds are straight and clean., The interior of this Chevelle screams restomod. The tan leather and ostrich upholstery is something I have never seen before. The seats are comfortable and show little or no signs of wear. In front of the seats, a great looking dash is free from cracking or warping and houses a set of Dakota digital gauges. Centered in the dash are the controls for the Vintage Air, and below that is the module that controls the air bag suspension. Between the seats the fresh console houses a staple shifter for the TH400 and sits on tan carpet that shares tan seat belts with a tight headliner. Out back, the carpeted trunk has plenty of room for your cooler and chairs., This 1970 Chevelle SS is the total package and its 100Qeady to rock. Thoroughly upgraded in every way, it's a car that can be a serious threat at the drag strip, yet is still livable enough for a Sunday afternoon ice cream run. Anyone can own a stock big-block Chevelle, but this one will put them all on the trailer and then happily DRIVE all the way back to your house; it's serious fun at a serious bargain.
