1963 Ford Galaxie 500 R code survivor(NEW PRICE) is one of the rarest Ford muscle cars of all time. This FACTORY survivor Texas 427-T is a rocket and one of five made by Ford in 1963., Specially ordered when new by the Police Chief of Austin, Texas as his personal car, it is equipped with the ultra rare 427-T/ 425HP R Code motor. The "T" is for "Transistorized Ignition", you may have seen a few R Code cars before, but how many 427-T engines have you seen? As with most 427 r code cars, this one was built tough. Huge brakes, HD Kelsey Hayes wheels, 3.50:1 9" rear end, dual exhaust, HD cooling system, factory Certified speedometer, and the like. But being a Galaxie 500, and built for the Chief, this car has a beautiful cloth interior, full floor carpeting, and chrome for miles. The original rubber floor mats are still in place, and the added passenger's grab handle as well. Not content with a plain Jane car, the Chief also ordered the AM radio with rear seat speaker and reverb, tinted glass, police radio, a FULL complement of Stewart-Warner gauges in a special panel under the dash including yet another certified speedometer, and even full wheel covers! Since the factory wouldn't put A/C on a 427, the Chief had it installed at the dealership - and it still blows ice cold., This is one dressy car but the best part is the condition. With just over 39,985 original miles, this car is a SURVIVOR and in showroom condition. All Original paint except the front of hood; interior; carpet; glass; engine compartment; trunk; chassis; etc are all original. Look at the trunk pictures- that isn't a restored trunk and a new mat, that is original. All of the factory paint markings are still present on the immaculate and dry chassis. Thats what Texas made cars are supposed to be like..., The interior looks and smells new. Bump the key and the mighty 427T lights off like a new car, with the musical sound of 16 solid lifter tappets ticking lightly and a subtle rumble through its original factory pipes. This is a true time-capsule, you will never see a nicer original 1963 R Code car. It, of course, is 100®umbers matching drivetrain. The only items that have ever been changed are typical consumables such as spark plugs, filters, tires, belts, hoses, the battery, Carbs were replaced years ago and recently the mufflers. As far as performance, everything you have ever heard about the R Code Galaxies is true. This car is a rocket, although it really comes into its own above 80 MPH where the cop car suspension, tight gearing, and high winding 427 like to live, just like on the high banks of NASCAR in the 60's., This is the car that even the best Ford Muscle collections are lacking. Don't think they ever made a 4 door muscle car? Think again! Trust me, you'll never see another one like this, either by condition or rarity., Call me(John) at or email at [Email Seller], $58,995 obo
