1960 Jaguar XK150S Roadster, Chassis no. T831924DN, Engine no. VS1748-9, This matching numbers 3.4 liter XK150S was originally sold in the Netherlands, hence the odometer in kilometers. The current owner bought the car from the Dutch owner, who participated in several rallies including the prestigious Tulip. The car was imported by the current owner to the UK. While in the UK the owner enjoyed the Jag for several years. It was decided to import the car to the United States where the car participated in several events like the Going to the Sun Rally and recently the Fall Colors Motoring Tour in California., Over the years the car has been maintained regardless of cost and several upgrades have been made to make the car a great event car. The original 4 speed overdrive transmission has been replaced by a 5 speed box, making high speed cruising a very relaxing experience due to the tall 5th gear. The modern synchromesh makes the car much easier to drive than the period correct Moss box. The original Moss gearbox comes with the car. The other significant upgrade is a J. D. Classics sport fast road brake kit. Consequently, the brakes work extremely well with excellent bite and balance. The brake pedal will remain hard at all times regardless of conditions. Records are available from the last couple of years showing new tires, new shocks, rebuilt starter motor, new clutch and clutch hydraulics, new engine wiring harness, new stainless dual exhaust system, a discreetly installed modern stereo with IPod integration, the above mentioned upgrades as well as regular maintenance. The exterior of the car is very good with the door aligning especially well. Up close one will see some chips and stress cracks at all the usual places. The chrome is very nice with no pitting. The wheels, including the spare, are excellent. The right tri-pod type headlights and the Lucas “flamethrower' spotlights are in great shape. The windshield has some minor wiper marks but otherwise is excellent. The engine compartment is clean and wonderful to look at. The “S' denotes a triple 2' carburetor set up giving the engine a quoted 250 hp. The valve covers as well as the float bowls are polished. An electric fan has been added. The engine runs wonderful with great power, no smoke while displaying good oil pressure. The trunk upholstery is red with a spare tire cover which has been restored with new paint and pull strap. Some of the tools are on the underside of the spare tire cover. The interior is in excellent condition with as new wood. The red wool carpeting does not show any wear. The instruments function properly and look great. The various trim bits and pieces as well as the switches are excellent. The top is black canvas and in a good shape. Driving the car one notices the structural integrity of the car with plenty of power and confidence inspiring braking. This is truly a wonderful tour car., $159,000
