A phenomenal MGB....reputedly only 24,000 original miles (West Coast car) since new...NO WAY of confirming but we do know this: floors, sills, rockers, quaters, trunk floor...all near perfect. Passed the magnet test for bondo, really spectacular underneath. Even the original battery boxes are near perfect., Paint is black and show quality. Perfectly straight, minimal orange peel, really sensational as contrasted wih tthe new chrome wire wheels and beautiful exterior chrome., New top, mostly new interior, new fuel tank and pump, brakes redone, all gauges work, boot cover, original banjo style steering wheel, perfect oil pressure, no smoke, perfect compression (150 psi in every cylinder), transmission feels and sounds great, front end is nice and tight, smooth and quiet in operation, runs and drives like new., This car is very close to 'as new' in a variety of important ways. Only changes I can see is a past owner's decision to add a new fuse block replacing the original two fuse system with far more and better fusing protection. And for no reason I can understand, relocated the battery in the engine bay. Which, if a propsective owner wants, we can move back into its normal hding place behind the seats., For a 49 year old MGB, it is amazing. Smooth, powerful, great ride, steering, handling, braking, and classic looks. A genuine usable collector's item ready to drive anywhere. And with its high compression 98hp engine, disc brakes, precise steering, great ride, and lively handlng, one winds up with contermporary performance and a top speed over 100 mph. MORE than sufficient for exciting fun at speeds that are not terribly in excess of posted limits., Anyway, on the street 'its not how fast you are going that couts for fun, its how fast you THINK you are going.' And in a 2,200 pounds B, 60-70-80 mph is a fun and exciting trip., $19,500 ,, Advertiser Since 1974
