For Sale: 1963 Jaguar E-Type lightweight competition replica. With only 12 factory lightweights produced in 1963, few of us will ever see one, let along drive one. In these circumstances, a 1963 E-type modified as a lightweight is the best way to experience the look and feel of the original. The car has been awarded FIA papers including documented competition history in the late 80's in Germany. The car offered here was converted to lightweight form in 1987 in the UK. It is a roadster / hardtop with fixed alloy top. The bonnet, top, doors and boot lid are aluminum. Side windows, rear window and headlight covers are Perspex. The car sits on 15" Dunlop racing wheels and road spec tires. Power comes from a race prepared 4.2-liter Jaguar 6-cylinder engine with triple Weber 45DCOE side draught carburettors producing 325 bhp. 5-speed gearbox, Sabelt harnesses, and VA Engineering roll cage complete the appearance and reality of a very exciting car. After spending time in Germany, England and The Netherlands, this E-type was imported to the USA in April 2003. It was not raced but rather took a position in a small private collection until now. It will make a wonderful car for someone interested in vintage racing or vintage tours. Price: $150,000
