1953 Chevrolet 3100 Stepside Deluxe 5-Window, I bought this Pick-up in 1972 when I got out of the Army. I built it up to be a daily driver and drove it steadily until 1993 when I moved to Montana from California. I have done a frame-off restoration 3 times, with three different paint schemes each time. One from 1972 -1975 while in college, the next in 1980 to 1982 after returning from Alaska to go back to college, and the last, from 1995-1998, here in Montana at my FBO, Bridger Aviation Services, Inc. I returned the truck to as stock-looking as possible, while retaining the reliability and serviceability of a daily driver with mostly hidden upgrades. Since this last restoration, this truck has only been driven to be exhibited in a few parades and local car shows. Since 1993 to the present it has been stored in an insulated, heated aircraft hangar with a cover., In the 1970s and '80s I built and restored nine '49-54' Chevy trucks for friends and relatives. One surfer friend put 200,000 highway miles on his, with one transmission rebuild surfing from Mexico to Canada. I have been building and restoring aircraft since 1995 and don't want to tear up my Chevy on gravel roads or drive it in the snow in Montana. My kids don't appreciate the money and effort I spent on this truck over the years, let alone there being capable and willing to take care of it and preserve it for future generations. So I'm hoping this one will be enjoyed by someone on a daily basis. It has been professionally appraised recently., Specifications as Follows: Engine, Thriftmaster 235 C.I. 6 cyl. 60 PSI High pressure oil Insert bearings.
