Much admired at recent classic car meets, this is one of the earliest production A30s, LHD, manufactured in 1952, first registered to a Vancouver owner in March 1953. These very early examples, known as the AS3 version, had several unique features that do not appear in any later examples. This is believed to be the oldest surviving A30 in North America and one of the oldest worldwide. Less than 20 A30 and A35s are known to exist in Canada and the USA, many of which are RHD imports from the UK or New Zealand. Even in the UK where A30s and A35s are more common, there are very few AS3 versions still around, so this car is truly a rare survivor!, It has been completely restored over three years, at a cost more than double the asking price, with care taken not to "over restore" and to preserve as many as possible of the car's original components and finishes. Some mechanical upgrades have been made including a 1275cc A series engine, conversion to full hydraulic brakes using MG Midget components, and MG driveshafts. The goal was to improve safety and driveability without altering the original appearance. The engine was completely rebuilt over last winter with very few miles since. All mechanical systems have been completely overhauled, new wiring, brake lines, upgraded radiator, electric cooling fan, custom exhaust, interior completely redone, etc. Too many new or refurbished parts to list in full. All the original components, including the 803cc engine, are available if you wish to return it to stock. Lots of spares and extra parts too., Certainly unique in this part of the world and generates more "smiles per mile" than anything I have owned.,, $13,750 obo
