This gorgeous 1969 Chevelle is 1 of 36 produced and the only convertible known to have been factory optioned with the L-78 396/375 HP engine. It has a factory replacement CE block with most of the original parts except for the block retained. The exterior is correct in Lemans Blue with a White convertible top. The original Blue vinyl interior was replaced with a Parchment interior. It had a complete rotisserie restoration. Options include power steering, power disc brakes, power top, AM-FM radio with rare 8 track stereo, special instrumentation with 6000 RPM Tach, bumper guards, deluxe seat belts, tinted glass and a very rare rear defroster. As proof of the car’s original heritage, the correct original CX code Special High Performance transmission is still in the car with original riveted tag still in place. Another rare and unique feature of this Chevelle is the F41 Performance Suspension option, which includes a heavier front sway bar and rear sway bar with reinforced lower control arms. Only 722 were built with the F41 package. It comes with a tonneau cover and car cover. Also comes with the original build card and Owner’s Manual. Please refer to the pictures for the casting and date codes. The 1969 body style was well received and is a body style that has stood the test of time and still looks fresh today. The 1969 Chevelle SS396 Convertible with the optional L-78 engine will rank as one of the all time best packages of the muscle car era.
