1972 AMC Javelin AMX, This 72 Javelin AMX is a rare beast, with only 3,220 produced, and only a small fraction of that number remaining in existence. She is "loaded" and equipped with the “Go-Pack' upgrade, which included many options such as air-conditioning, high-back bucket seats, remote side mirror controls, rear defogger, courtesy lighting, tilt wheel, upgraded heavy duty suspension, “Twin-Grip' differential, Rally T-stripes, rear spoiler on trunk and front air dam, etc. More importantly, this car is fitted with the most powerful engine AMC ever made, the mighty 401. She appears in her rare and original factory color of Grasshopper Green, with white/black interior. This beauty was restored by an AMC enthusiast and expert, and it shows. The current owner is also an AMC enthusiast and member of the American Motors Owners club, having owned several AMC's in the past and currently owning a 70 AMX and 70 Javelin. The engine on this Javelin was fully rebuilt with performance upgrades such as a slightly upgraded camshaft, electronic ignition, headers, aluminum intake manifold and Edelbrock carburetor. The stout 727 automatic transmission was fully rebuilt with a higher-performance shift kit installed for extra-crisp gear changes. The suspension was of course rebuilt, with brakes, cooling and other ancillaries attended to as well. The dash was removed and all gauges were bench tested and found to be in working order. Wheels are the correct 15-inch x 8 AMC slotted wheels. The hood is the correct cowl-induction type. She fires up instantly and if you dare press the pedal to the floor you better hang on! She rides very comfortably and with confidence, handling and braking very well considering all the suspension work, including the addition of rear traction bars, that has been completed. This car has won several awards at various AMC meets across Southern California, including a First in Class trophy and needs nothing to be enjoyed. These Javelin's, driven in part by Mark Donohue, won the 1971 Trans-Am Racing Championship. Those of you looking to stand apart from the crowd, or be in front of the crowd, this is your chance as you are almost guaranteed to be the only one with a 72 Javelin, especially one this clean and powerful, at just about any car show or event.,, Inquire ,, Advertiser Since 1972
