Nothing says classic Americana like a vintage Ford pickup truck. Since its introduction in 1948 and meteoric rise to the top-selling vehicle in the U.S. by the 1970s, the F-series pickups have defined utility, comfort and style for generations -- but it's becoming harder and harder to find straight examples of the early trucks., This truck is exceptionally original and very correct, and one of the nicest examples we have ever seen. Repainted only once in the correct code "A" black, you can still see the original spot welds in the bedsides. The body is incredibly straight, with no rust and no bondo, ever. This pickup is a real charmer with custom wood sideboards for the bed -- great for a hayride for the kids, but easy to remove if you prefer a more streamlined look., From the factory, this was about the nicest truck you could buy in 1960 -- the Custom Cab got a heater, AM radio and a headliner, "luxuries" not found on other models of the day. Mechanically the truck is very sound, with its original 292 V-8 under the hood which runs great. Most of these trucks came with straight sixes, so the Y-block V-8 is a nice (and hard to find) upgrade. It has a new clutch, new brakes and new wheel cylinders., It's hard to believe that more than 50 years after it rolled out of the Ford factory, it never saw an accident -- but we also believe it has only 45,000 original miles. The truck's condition supports our theory; it still has the original rubber floor mats and original headliner, and it looks fantastic inside and out. The original AM radio remains in the dash, but a modern AM/FM/CD stereo is hidden in the glove compartment. The white seat and two-tone interior really pop., You can almost always tell the difference when a truck has been restored after a hard life or an easy one; this old Ford had an easy life and it shows. The truck is on its second long-term owner, who purchased it from the estate of the original owner years ago., Give us a call or shoot us a note if you're interested in learning more about this incredible truck., $13,995
