The lifetime California and single owner since 1959 -, 1956 Porsche 356A Speedster, Chassis No. 82015, Engine No. 60687, Original California Blue plate Speedster!, Single ownership from 1959-2012!, Numbers-Matching Throughout w/ Certificate of Authenticity!, *Complete with book, tools, jack, spare, tonneau cover, side windows and an impressive history/documentation file!, Conceived to meet a specific price point, it was a Spartan purpose-built sporting machine with minimal equipment and no needless accoutrements. Speedsters included a revised windshield that significantly lowered the look of the car. A chrome strip down the side of the car was also added and gone were unnecessary items such as an effective top. Instrumentation had been reworked to have only three dials: a speedometer, an oil temperature, and an optional tachometer. With the reduced weight from the elimination of many trim items, these cars looked great and were even more exciting and fun to drive., California car from new, 82015's nearly life-long caretaker and northern California resident purchased the Speedster in 1959 from the hairdresser of the original owner. Upon close inspection, it's apparent this example has been maintained properly over the years and presents itself as a very honest and special Speedster for the ultimate Porsche aficionado., - First time offered for sale in nearly over 50 years!, Today, the car displays an older restoration it received in the early 1980's and continues to wear its correct colors assigned from the factory. At the time of restoration, the solid body received a respray and undercoating in the usual areas. The cabin was reupholstered and retains the original padding. The Speedster is still fitted with all of its original (filler-free) body panels and floor pans excluding the bonnet and battery pan. The original # stamped front bonnet was replaced in the 1960's due to a service station attendant forcing it shut and bending the hinges, it is included with the sale. The battery tray was swapped during the restoration to remove years of acid leak., Records indicate Motor No. 60687's first major rebuild was in August 1964 at the famed Autohaus Norbert Nieslony in San Carlos, California where a complete overhaul of the internal equipment was commissioned. Regularly serviced and casually driven thereafter, the Speedster was due for its second and last major freshening in the height of the 1980's. An oil pressure gauge was added to the dash many years ago as requested by the owner., - All original body panels, excellent fit and finish!, Offered for sale for the first time in over 50 years, 82015 is ready to tour again. Recent services include new brake lines, new shocks all around, new cv joint boots, all new fluids July 2012 along with a new battery. An array of original parts and equipment come with the Speedster including the silver date coded wheels, lexan side windows, soft top, half-cab tonneau cover tools in roll, jack and more. The original 1956 Driver's Manual was found residing in the side pocket. Mr. & Mrs Peterson the long term owners are still alive today and rejoice in talking about their beloved Speedster., Accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms this Speedster is in fact a numbers matching example, while the documentation records the incredibly long ownership history. As this model continues to be one of the most recognizable, collectable Porsches to date, bullet-proof examples such as 82015 command huge respect among enthusiasts., - A very special Porsche Speedster!, To learn more about this vehicle, please contact our sales department at or [Email Dealer], $212,500 negotiable ,, Advertiser Since 2009
