Equipped with a modern 350cid small block Chevy is this beautiful 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door hardtop in a deep gloss Onyx Black paint code#8170 over a very nice red vinyl over black cloth interior. This beauty has some nice engine upgrades. Some include Edlebrock carburetor intake manifold and headers going to a dual exhaust system. This Chevy has many options and accessories. Some include an automatic transmission vintage air conditioning very rare power windows rear bumper guards and power brakes. This is a laser straight body and the stainless chrome and glass is all exceptional. I am calling it a good quality driver's car. It is that good looking. 1957 was the last year of the so-called Tri-year Chevys. In the first year 1955 there were 16 body styles offered. By the time 1957 rolled around 18 styles were offered. And by the end of the 1957 model year sales had increased approximately 76=We call that success! Chevrolet called 1957 "The cream of the crop." While its rivals across town grew lower and sleeker Chevrolet stuck to what was selling. And that was high-sided body shell but with some revamps at both ends. The top of the line Bel Air showed off some ribbed aluminum trim inserts on each rear fin trim pieces such as the grille V-8 emblems fender hash marks Chevrolet on the hood and trunk lids and Bel Air on the rear quarters to enhance the top-line image. Carl Renner a writer from The Hot Ones has been quoted as saying - "Looking back I think it was our (styling staff's) objective to make a Chevrolet look like a 'little Cadillac.' Why not give people who could afford a Chevrolet that Cadillac look of quality?" How true it was and how true it still is 55 years later. This is a really nice Bel Air that is very straight with good fitting panels and gaps just as they should be. The interior looks fantastic and is quite luxurious for its time. And with the vintage air conditioning and a modern alternator and radiator we really are looking at creature comforts that we have come to enjoy today. And to top it all off are those iconic American Racing Wheels and those 215/70X15" tires front and rear. This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
