Porsche's 1961 production run of the notch back 356 coupes was unique in that it was essentially the cabriolet body with the optional detachable steel hardtop welded on. The winshield was the same as the cabriolet & one inch shorter than that of standard coupes. The fuel filler remained inside the front compartment., The T5 was a one year model with just 1,048 made in 1961 in total with the number if supers thought to be fewer than 600., There were fewer "Notches" built than there were speedsters (4000) & there are proportionately fewer survivors. Most notably, most T-5s were were late cut up to make cabriolets. The following years production, the 356T-6 was a new design in that the new T-6 notchback cpe did not start life as a cabriolet, but rather withs its own production design, part cabriolet rear end design, part t-6 CPE., Offered here is a fantastic, no excuses restoration of a brilliant 1961 Porsche 356B T-5 "notch" 1600 Super that has won numerous awards in its current, long term ownership including the Dayton, Ohio Concours d'Elegance & at numerous Porsche Club of North America events. Bodied by Karmann, it is finished in Black over Tan leather, & every detail has been redone to authentic fashion inside & out. Under the hood & beneath were all restored to the same quality. A Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche as well a new & correct tool kit conveys with this car. It is unlikely that a finer example, particulary in these colors & such attention to detail exists anywhere. $ 82,995, $82,995 ,, Advertiser Since 2004
