Manufactured from 1936-1942, leading into World War II, the Buick Century was designed as a mid-level car with plenty of appointments. It was basically the lighter weight and smaller bodied Buick 40 Special mated with the larger more powerful Roadmaster engine and longer 126' chassis. This combination was an instant hit for consumers looking for executive amenities without sacrificing some level of performance! It was rated with capabilities of hitting top speeds of 95-100 mph, and later nick-named the “The bankers hot rod!', This exceptional 1939 Buick Series 60 Century 5 Passenger Touring Sedan features its original 320ci Dynaflash Straight 8 that produces 141 horsepower with the help of a Stromberg Aerotype downdraft carburetor, 3-speed column shift manual transmission, and 3.90:1 rear end gear ratio! Options include BF Goodrich 4' wide whitewall 7.00-15 tires, Buick “Air Control' heater, Sonomatic AM radio, passenger rearview mirror on visor with tractable travel record, dual side mount spare tires, front & rear bumper guards, dash clock, polished exhaust turn-down, front & rear vent windows, carpeted floor mats, rear assist handles, foot rests, fold down armrest, and more!, The real highlight to this amazing example is the overall condition! The black paint is exquisite as is the chrome, trim, and factory emblems! The interior is near perfect including the faux wood dash and walnut door garnish molding surrounding the windows! It comes wonderfully presented with all correct, factory components that include cloth covered wiring, Delco-Remy electronics, Buick “Lock Roll' clamps on the radiator and heater hoses, Harrison radiator, matching spare tire and completely finished trunk presentation! It is hard to paint a picture of how nice a car can look and feel without actually having a prospective buyer here to see it with us first hand. This is definitely one of those cars. The pictures do an impressive job and should not disappoint the next owner! It will comes with an original owner's manual, factory engine, and original chassis plate still proudly affixed to the passenger from frame rail! Please feel welcome to call with any additional questions or to schedule a viewing appointment. Thanks for looking!, $34,900 ,, Advertiser Since 1989
