1929 was a big year for Ford; it became the first year they turned a profit from the Model A lineup. Trucks like this 1929 Model A (series 82-A) were influential in making that happen. Power is delivered by the familiar L-head 4 cylinder 'cast en bloc'. A Zenith one-barrel carburetor feeds the engine and things have been recently tuned & rebuilt to ensure it starts up much quicker than most (especially for a Model A!). Bolted to the L-head is a 3-speed manual transmission with a 3.77:1 gear out back. Houdaille double-action hydraulic shock absorbers with semi-elliptical front and rear transverse springs were installed to hold the freight that these trucks were expected to haul and other than an alternator everything remains stock original.
