Pro Touring is about no compromises and this incredible 1966 Chevy Nova is a prime example. With a thumping 550 horsepower small block a suspension hunkered down over gorgeous 17-inch alloys and a gorgeous interior it's obvious that no corners were cut in the construction. The crisp Nova body has always been popular with hot rodders-heck even the factory got into the act when they stuffed a potent L79 Corvette motor under the hood and created one of the most predatory sleepers ever. Rendered in bright red most folks take one look at the sleek lines and figure that it has to be modified but it isn't. Aside from the cowl induction hood the rest of the car is original GM steel and even most of the trim remains intact including the body side moldings grille and bright chrome bumpers front and rear. The two-stage urethane paint is dazzling in the sunlight and you can imagine how the heads will turn when you prowl into the parking lot behind the wheel of this one. The matching red leather interior takes the Pro Touring movement seriously. With front buckets from a late-model Trans Am they've been subtly resculpted and cut down to look right in the compact Nova then finished by guys who are used to winning the big trophies. The red carpets use the original style weave just for effect and the door panels are restored not custom pieces. In back the bench seat was stitched to match the buckets up front giving the entire interior a very cohesive look that's typical of the best custom pieces. Upgrades include A/C an AM/FM/cassette stereo system and a tilt column that still wears the original wheel. Open the trunk for a back-to-basics look but it has been covered with spray-on bedliner for durability as well as a reproduction trunk mat. One turn of the key will convince you that all of the claimed 550 horses are present and accounted for under the hood compliments of a 388 cubic inch small block. Full of goodies like a set of Iron Eagle heads a 750 double pumper carburetor and a high rise intake it snarls and cackles like a full race piece. It has clearly been dressed for show with a ton of chrome and polished aluminum and all the plumbing and wiring was done with aesthetics in mind. Underneath there's a full tube chassis with a Heidt's front end and Wilwood discs at all four corners. A TH350 sends thrust back to a 12-bolt hanging on a 4-link and coilovers and it rides on a set of gorgeous 17x8 front and massive 17x11 rear Torque Thrust wheels inside low-profile Nitto radials for a true Pro Touring look. This car's extensive list of modifications and equipment really needs more space than we have here so please give us a call to get the full story.
