1964 FORD THUNDERBIRD CONVERTIBLE $36,995.00, 1964 saw a major redesign for the Thunderbird line up. The hoods were longer; the side panels were highly sculptured, with mirror-image feature lines, at the belt line and lower bodyline. The front-end treatment was more aggressive looking and featured a larger hood scoop. Taillights changed dramatically to the rectangular style light set in a massive chrome rear bumper. The car we have here was built in San Jose, California and still has the original Black California license plates on it. The body, floors, interior and chrome are all in very good condition, with a lot of it having been re-done. The paint overall, is in very good condition, with just a little Patina due to having a few years of age to it. The dash top is very good and the door panels are excellent. All of the bright work around the dash is in very nice condition giving it a very fresh look. It has a modern Kenwood Sound System built in that is very unobtrusive that includes a KOS V500 Portal and KOS-L432 4.3 inch screen with I Pod connector in the center console. The original Ford radio is still mounted in the Dash. Power comes from the 390 cubic inch V8 that was originally rated at 300 horsepower and coupled to Cruise-o-Matic automatic transmission. Other features include Air-Conditioning, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Convertible Top and Tilt away steering wheel. It has, what was often installed by the dealer, the optional Sports Roadster kit. To set the car off it has the whitewall tyres and rear fender skirts.
