1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II Ser# C56E2937, Continental Mark II's remain an avid collected automobile today due to their classic styling & quality construction. Because of their limited production the potential of increasing value is high., Once owned by the rich and famous the likes of Frank Sinatra, Barry Goldwater & Louis Armstrong. This fine example of a Mark II was purchased new in 1956 by Clement C Costello in Lowell, MA. He was an eccentric, influencial Editor of the Lowell Sun Newspaper for 30 years. Mr Costello passed away in 1987 after moving to Europe., In the last several years the car was refinished, new leather interior upholstery, gauges, dash brightwork refurbished, new brakes, new center driveshaft bearing, electric window motors and switches repaired or replaced. (One vent window motor still not found.) Also new hood hinges, wiper motor, vacuum & fuel pump, carburetor rebuilt, new heater valves, exhaust system and new battery.
