This Aston Martin DB 2/4 Mark II has chassis Number AM300 1183 and its matching 3 Litre engine number VB6J 809. The car is left hand drive and has the distinctive chrome wire wheels., This car was owned by an engineer in Indiana from 1964-1996. It then went to the Door Prairie Museum in La Porte, Indiana for 10 years. I acquired the car in January 2007., The DB 2/4 MK II was produced from October 1955- August 1957. Some specialists say the later cars (1957) are preferable over the first produced. In total, only 145 saloons were built. Consider the fact that this car is left-hand drive, and of course the numbers decrease., The 3 litre inline 6-cylinder engine generates a respectable 140 horsepower and is capable of 120 mph. Coupe bodies were orginally contracted to M.J. Mulliner and Sons, but later David Brown shifted this work to Tickford, who already built the convertibles., The Aston Martin DB2 debuted to the public at the New York Motor Show. It was Aston Martin's first real production vehicle. The name was derived from the initials of the company's founder, David Brown. The production designs were very similar to the vehicles raced at LeMans., In 1955 Aston Martin introduced the MKII. There was little to distinguish the MKII. It had the same mechanics as its predecessor and only minor exterior modifications. Chassis numbers for this series began with AM300 1101 and went to AM300 1299. The DB MK II was the last Aston Martin to have the wonderful row of circular dials on the instrument panel. The lower part of the front fender was fixed and did not open with the hood. A kick-open air vent was fitted to this panel on each side. The chrome-plated trim strip beneath the windows was extended around the rear of the car in a horizontal plane. This particular car was repainted and had the engine over-hauled in 2008. It also had the following improvements: Rebuilt Carburetors, rebuilt fuel pump, replacement voltage regulator, replacement wiper motor, replacement belts and hoses, replacement engine mounts, rebuild of the entire exhaust system, all wheel bearings serviced. The interior is like new and the car has all tools. Also included are the three must have books: The Owner's Manual, the Service Manual and the Spare Parts Manual., I have priced the car fairly based on the results of the last three cars sold at reputable auction companies. The car, in fact, has been gaining popularity and value since early 2008, showing a steady increase consistently for this time period to the present. The pictures speak for themselves. At this time, I do not know of any improvements that need to be done to the car. The car has only been shown in local (South Florida) events. The car is available for inspection at my private warehouse in Stuart, Florida on the Treasure Coast. I can help arrange transport to your home city., $158,000 negotiable
