When purchased this Nomad was a shell with no evidence of rust or damage with shiny original paint floor boards. The seller had indicated that the Nomad was in the process of being taken apart by a few owners over about 30 years and some chrome had been done and wrapped in 1980 news paper, then another owner had some pieces of stainless polished and they were wrapped in 1988 news paper. At this point the work seemed to stop until the car was acquired in early 2005., It appears the car was in storage with the hope of finishing the restoration for so many years it was never wreaked and suffered no rust. According to the seller and the DMV the Nomad was always registered with the original 1956 license plate that is still on the car. In 2005 the complete body off build was started, all done by professionals over several years of continuous work from San Jose CA to San Bernardino CA., This 1956 Nomad is a Paul Newman Creations, with all Corvette suspension, four wheel disk brakes, and four wheel independent suspension. High end leather interior by Armando's Custom upholstery. Bodywork and paint by Bay area Customs. It is powered by a 350 Chevy and 700R4 Transmission. It is equipped with Vintage Air/Heat and power windows. It has all new smoke glass and Pioneer sound W/CD, Painless wire Harness. It also has Lexus power front seats, custom ceramic coated exhaust pipes, and elm burl wood insert on the dash.",, Auction
