1957 Porsche 356 Speedster Replica, This is a very nice car that I have owned for 12 years and I have enjoyed every minute of ownership. The pictures are with the Glasspar hardtop. This was a unique option offered by the Porsche Dealers worldwide from 1957 to 1959. It is easily removed by 4 bolts and 2 flip clips. The car also has the Speedster soft top. Both tops have the appropriate plexiglass side windows. A toneau cover is also included. The engine is a 6 cylinder Corvair .30 over with approximately 17,000 miles since a total rebuild in 2000. The dual exhausts result in a sound much like a stock early 911 Porsche. All parts are readily available from Clark's Corvair ( ). The engine is equipped with a Porsche 911 oil cooler with fan in the right front fender. The transaxle was built by Rancho Performance Tranaxles in Fullerton, CA and is geared to the stronger torque characteristics of the Corvair motor. As can be seen, the instruments and trim are original Porsche. The tires have less than 600 miles and are Vedestein Sprint S80 165 R15's. The car was built on a 1967 VW shortened platform and is titled in MA as a 1967 VW Speedster. It has dual brakes. The body is very straight. The black body and silver hard top generate a lot of approval. The pictures speak for themselves. The car has always been garage kept and never used in the winter., My reason for selling is simply that I will be 70 years old on my next birthday and I bought myself a Porsche 911 as a present., $24,499
