, This rare 1953 Buick Special convertible is a stunning car offered by the 3rd owner. The second owner started the body off restoration, the current owner completed it and has owned the car for the last 5 years. There appears to be only 15 Buick Special Convertibles registered in the US. The red color makes the car, and offers nice contrast with the new black top. A high quality red and black interior was added, and the engine was completely rebuild and restored (we are in possession of all the pistons, rods etc that were replaced). The car is not a perfect trailer queen, as the seller loves to give it regular exercise by driving the family around when time permits. It is available in Hinsdale, IL for $49,900 obo., It has a new top, the hydraulics work flawlessly, the heater works, the clock works, and the tube radio works as it did in the 50′s. The owner did replace the original radio with a wonderbar which is was an option but is not original. The original radio was also retained.
