1931 AUBURN 8-98 COUPE/CABRIOLET., In 1900, the Auburn Automobile Club (AAC) was established and within 3 years the Auburn made its first national appearance at the Chicago Auto Show. The early Auburn wowed onlookers (and still does) with exquisite body lines, rolling fenders, long nose, tall grille and short windshield, a look that placed them in a league all alone. Since its inception, modifications were made to increase performance and luxury. In 1924, an auto sales executive named E.L. Cord struck a deal with AAC to purchase the company and started equipping the Auburns with V8s. In 1926, Cord also purchased Duesenberg Automobile and Motors Co. In 1929, Cord combined his companies under the new name,"Cord Corporation" which continued to produce some of the finest hand-built vehicles in the world until 1937 when changing times sadly caused their manufacturing to close. Today, at Happy Days Dream Cars is this rare and elegant 1931 Auburn 8-98 Coupe/Cabriolet.
