In the '50s if you were at the top of your game you drove a Cadillac like this '56 Coupe DeVille. The instrument panel is substantial and beautifully finished in stainless steel and chrome giving you the impression that you were at the helm of something truly substantial. This one also carries its original AM radio with Wonderbar signal-seeking function. The trunk has been recently reupholstered as well in matching tan fabric that also includes a special storage bag for the spare tire. By 1956 Cadillac's revolutionary OHV V8 engine had been punched out to 365 cubic inches making it one of the most powerful engines in America. Easily able to move the biggest limousines it makes the Coupe DeVille feel downright sprightly and offers a wonderful muted V8 hum that suggests precision machinery at work. Dressed in Cadillac Blue it looks correct including the original air cleaner and accessories and the inner fenders and firewall tell you just how clean this car really is. A Hydramatic automatic is the sole gearbox available but it's a willing and reliable partner and shifts beautifully. The floors are solid the chassis straight and fresh shocks have been fitted at all four corners to emphasize that traditional Cadillac ride and you'll discover that there's truly nothing like it.
