All trades considered., Here is a beautiful car. This is a high quality, genuine 1970 Buick GS455 that looks fantastic and has the performance to match (11.69 second quarter mile). It has several modifications, but all the important original equipment is included. Please read on., This Gran Sport has been with the same owner / craftsman for the last 19 years, and he has done a fantastic job with this remarkable car. It was found in Kentucky as a solid, all-original numbers matching GS455 with a TH400 transmission and 80,000 miles. It then received a full frame-on restoration. The entire underside was sandblasted, primered, and painted. Any metal with traces of rust was repaired or replaced. The car was then painted an absolutely gorgeous Bahama Blue Poly., The initial restoration work was completed in 1995, but you would NEVER believe it; I have seen 1-year-old restorations that don't look as nice as this car. Since then, the car has been driven less than 3,000 miles (yes, less than 3,000 miles in 17 years)., The car has received many other upgrades and enhancements. To begin, while the original 455 ci engine and air intake are included, the car now sports a high performance 470 ci setup that was installed in 2005 and has about 1,000 miles since. Highlights include flow tested TA Performance 430 heads, an offset grind stock crankshaft, Scat rods, Diamond pistons, and a nice TA Performance TA 290-08HL camshaft that still allows good vacuum at idle. Up top are a Kenne Bell Wildcat intake and Bigs 950cfm carb, and the ignition is an MSD 6AL. Fuel is provided by a Barry Grant 220HR pump and a return style regulator. The engine runs good on pump gas with a CR of about 10:1., As with the engine, the original BA code transmission is removed but included. The present TH400 setup has a shift kit and 3,800 rpm ATI torque converter along with a B&M shifter. The 12-bolt rear is equipped with a Moroso Brute Strength positraction differential with 3.73 gears, along with Mark Williams axles., This GS was originally equipped with power brakes, which have been upgraded with period correct discs in front which perform great on the street. The car's power steering has been upgraded with a late-model YA fast ratio box from a Monte Carlo SS. Suspension is of stock geometry, but with upgraded springs and shocks. The car has 15" wheels (6" wide in front, 10" in back). The rears tuck in the wheelwells just right., The car also has a 6-point roll cage with angled side bars for easy ingress/egress (this could be removed if desired). The exhaust is 3" all the way back and sounds fantastic., This is a great opportunity to buy a beautiful, high performance GS455 that is fully sorted out and ready to go.
