1964 Cobra,, This Cobra is a kit car with a real difference due to serious upgrades. A real treat to drive with a superb power to weight ratio., History, The Mk3 was Factory Five Racing's (FFR) first component kit car and since 1995 they have sold over 6,000 examples. Their concept is simple - well-engineered kits that can be built by the average hobbyist. They even simplified the donor car concept by designing the car around a late model donor Ford Mustang. This was a revolutionary concept in 1995. The car was an instant hit and has become the best selling component car of all time. Today the Mk3 comes in two kit versions: the base model that still uses the Mustang as a donor car; and the advanced kit that does not require a donor car and has everything the builder needs less running gear, wheels and paint., This example hasn't used the donor car concept. In fact, it has a facsimile of the original Cobra chassis that has been updated by the use of AutoCAD and computer aided technology. This car has just been completed with only 93 miles showing on the clock. A great deal of attention to detail is evident in the build quality. The car is finished in Lamborghini Titanium Metallic with black hides and Simpson safety harnesses., This Cobra accelerates smartly due to its Ford 302 ci engine will a Holley four bbl carburetor. Upgrades in the ignition system have been made by adding a pointless distributer and a Mallory coil and ignition as well as a polished stainless steel exhaust system. A Tremic T-5 mated to a Ford 8.8-inch limited-slip differential with a 3.73 ratio was used to transfer the power to the wheels. The front shocks are Bilstein coil over while the rear boasts Koni heavy duty shocks and authentic Halibrand replica wheels., A real treat to drive with a superb power to weight ratio., Specifications: Chassis number: FSR1005836RD, Engine: Ford 302ci, 4 bbl Holly Carburetor, Transmission: Tremic T-5 full syncro and aluminum case, Brakes: Hydraulically assisted front disc/rear drums, Mileage: 93 Miles, Color: Lamborghini Titanium Metallic/black hides,, $44,950 ,, Advertiser Since 1985
