Former AACA National First Prize winner in excellent condition throughout. A beautiful little Model T with no needs that's ready to tour or show., Enthusiasm for Ford's wonderfully simple Model T is as strong as ever, and they still represent a great way to get into the old car hobby for a very modest investment. A wonderful combination of Henry Ford black and warm oak, this huckster pickup remains in first-rate condition throughout and has been used very little since winning its awards. The huckster body style represents the best of both open and closed vehicles, offering a windshield and roll-up sides for the cargo bay. The steel portions of the car remain bright and glossy, obviously restored to a high standard, and there is no damage or even notable signs of use. The original radiator shell, headlights, and cowl lights were likewise restored, not purchased from a catalog, and together give this T a high degree of authenticity. The finish on the oak components is surely worlds nicer than it was in the ‘20s, but it has a soft satin finish that isn't too harsh and modern-looking, and will likely last forever given even modest maintenance. No detail has been overlooked, and with little more than a quick wipe-down, this one can be ready for the show field once again., The front bench is little more than a cushion atop the gas tank, with a matching backrest snapped to a board separating the passenger compartment from the cargo bed. Secondary controls are, of course, basic, and the rudimentary instrument panel offers an ammeter but no temperature gauge or speedometer (and therefore we do not know the car's actual mileage, but it is surely only a few hundred miles since the restoration was completed)., The engine wears a coat of black paint, and all the ancillary components such as the plug wires, insulators, and even the T-shaped retaining hardware on the manifolds remains as it was in 1925. Upgrades include a modern water pump pulley and sealed bearing, as well as a matching pulley and bearing for the cooling fan, which reduce maintenance and improve reliability. The engine bay shows only light signs of use, with no leaks or seepage. Showing little more than dust from storage last winter, the chassis, like the engine bay, could be returned to show condition with no more than a thorough cleaning, and even the painted wood spoke wheels remain immune to signs of age., Hundreds of Model T-friendly events take place every year across the country, and the most recent AACA national meet at Hershey last fall amply demonstrates that the market for well-restored Model Ts of all shapes and sizes remains active and enthusiastic., For more information and photos, please visit .,,,, $24,900 negotiable ,, Advertiser Since 2008
