1940 Cadillac Series 75 Fleetwood Formal Sedan, Howard Hughes' Car, Any Cadillac limousine of the period is an important car, and certainly worth preserving. This example from the Astor collection may have a connection with one of the most fascinating characters of the twentieth century. It was purchased from the estate of a former Packard dealer who had stated that the Cadillac was taken in trade from Howard Hughes, who is said to have used the sedan while he owned MGM Studios. While this history cannot be proven with certainty, it is not unbelievable that such an imposing car would have been used by a magnate such as Hughes. Even without that connection, this is a very desirable car. Delivered to Don Lee, Inc. in Los Angeles in February, 1940, this Series 75 Fleetwood Formal Sedan remains largely original., It is complete with accessories including divider window, passenger to driver microphone and push-button Motorola radio and clock. A view of the engine compartment shows the V-8 engine and its accessories are clean and well maintained., Inquire ,, Advertiser Since 1972
