18,537 original miles. Rust-free California car. 292/automatic, fully rebuilt and highly detailed to show standards. New chrome, interior, top, and paint. An incredible driving, low-mileage early 'Bird., This gorgeous Raven Black 1955 Thunderbird led a very easy life in Palm Springs, California. Restored “as needed' over the course of its lifetime, it presents today as a beautiful rust-free example that is ready to drive and enjoy immediately., The body was given a show-quality black lacquer paint job several years ago, and its current condition is testament to both the quality of the job and the maintenance the car has received since. The hood, which is fresh 2-stage urethane, matches perfectly, and if I hadn't just told you, you'd probably never notice. Looking at the jambs in the trunk, you can still see the original paint, further proof that this was a dry, California car from day one., The 292 cubic inch Thunderbird Special was rebuilt some years ago and was recently freshened with hardened valve seats, new valves and valvetrain, and a correct carburetor was installed. Once it was assembled, it was all painted and detailed to show standards. Notable new parts include a NOS voltage regulator, fuel pump, and a 6-volt Optima battery that has been cleverly hidden inside an original case for trouble-free starting., Inside you'll find a brand-new black and white interior with new foam underneath. Correctly done in the original pattern, this car sports the optional power seat, and seat belts have been added for safety. The gauges and radio have been rebuilt, and the clock now ticks thanks to an upgraded quartz movement. Overhead, you'll notice a beautifully restored top frame, black canvas top and rear window. This car also includes the original early non-porthole hardtop., This is an extremely nice early T-Bird with no stories., For more information and photos, please visit, $39,900 negotiable ,, Advertiser Since 2008
