Stored and unused from 1966 to 1985, a restoration over a ten year period began shortly thereafter ending in 1996. This restoration was thorough and estimated to have taken several thousand hours of work. No detail was left uncovered and the work was painstaking and thorough in attention to detail. In the process the car was completely dismantled and carefully reassembled only after the thorough restoration or refurbishment of every component - a true ‘nut and bolt' restoration., Though maintaining originality was a key objective of the restoration, changes focused on two areas - safety, where the original wing-mounted semaphore indicators were replaced by wiring the flasher unit to the existing side and tail lights, and reliability and performance where the internals of the engine were substantially updated and improved. This latter aspect drew on the many modifications developed from competition experience over the years and the better quality materials and technology available., There can be few cars, if any, more evocative of English automotive engineering and quality at its zenith than an Aston Martin from the nineteen fifties. The DB2 represents the embryo of this achievement with a design purity that is lauded by collectors and enthusiasts alike., LML/50/393 is believed to be one of the finest examples available. The combination of its condition after several thousand hours of restoration work, a well-documented history of long-term careful ownership, and very desirable specification make it a highly sought-after acquisition for any serious collector or enthusiast.,, $255,000 negotiable
