1966 FORD MUSTANG, This car is 90% done. I'm selling at a "project car" price because of the bodywork that is needed to complete the restoration. Both quarter panels are dented and will need replacement, the right fender is also creased, and the rear floor pans are weak. The rest of the body is very good. The doors, roof are great, the hood is off a 64.5 and perfect. Engine: fresh 302 (less than 10 hours), heads are ported and polished with roller rockers, high tension springs and keepers, and threaded studs. Comp Cams Magnum 270 hydraulic cam/lifters, Edelbrock manifold with Holley 650 dp. MSD 6AL box and Motorcraft distributor, Crane Fire Wires, Blackjack headers, Accel SuperCoil. Battery is securely mounted in the trunk. Other Drive Train stuff: Transmission is a rebuilt C4 with shift kit, handmade 2.5" drive shaft with solid U-joints, and an 8" Ford rear with 3.55 (Strange) gears and limited slip differential. It has a rebuilt, Ford Cruisomatic shifter installed but I have a B&M ratchet shifter I'll throw in. I didn't like it. Exhaust is 2 3/4" (maybe 2 1/2") with H pipe. No tail pipes. Front and rear suspensions are new. Front is from MustangsPlus, all poly bushings, new upper and lower control arms, coils are performance 620s with 1" drop (new perches). Steering has been completely redone. All tie rod ends, idler arm are new. Steering box rebuilt by Rodes. Granada disc brakes on front. Rear has performance shackles and 5 leaf (mid-eye) springs. Interior is done. Seats are recovered, new headliner and dash pad. I have a carpet and pad that I was going to install after painting. That'll be thrown in, too. Gauges, tach, original dash bezel/knobs, and steering wheel. No radio. Status: This is a pretty typical restomod/street rod set up. I assembled and started the car for the first time about 3 years ago. There was a loud growl from the rear on decel, I shut it down, and parked it. Either the rear was not set up properly or the bearings were not replaced (as promised). This is yours to sort through if you buy the car. The car has sat since then. I restarted it last month- you can hear it run- but it dies when you put it in gear. It never got it's final tuning (distributor weights and carb squirters never optimized), so you'll have this to do, too. For personal reasons, I'm done, and am tired of seeing the car sit. If you?re up for a relatively short project or have done one of these before, this car is a real deal. Please don't call wanting parts- the car will be sold intact.
