1989 PORSCHE 944, 4cyl, 2.7L, 5spd, 22-25mpg Options: PB/PS, cruise control, power windows and locks, original radio/cassette player, leather seats, sunroof Have all service for the last 8 years. In the last year: New brakes (rotors and pads), replaced windshield and wiper motor, cam gasket replaced. A-arms, odometer and PS pump rebuilt. Email/Call for a complete list of maintenance. This was my wife's daily driver until we had our first baby 1.5 years ago. Now she only uses it occasionally. She consistently got over 22mpg on her 45 mile commute. It has been sitting in the garage, and out of the weather since we've owned the car. Obviously the paint job is the worst part of the car as cracking and chipping has occurring on the hood. The rest of the car is faded, as should be expected with a car this old. I plan on having the hood painted, but I doubt it will be a perfect match. The body shop says it is pretty hard to match new paint to old and faded paint. Mechanically the car works good and rides like a dream. There is a slight ticking sound from the engine before it warms up, but then it goes away. It has been like that since we bought it, and has never given us grief. My mechanic says it sounds like noisy injectors, which is a common complaint. When we purchased the car the AC didn t work but that has since been fixed with a retro-fit to the newer 134 refrigerant. The tires passed inspection recently, but they probably wont again next year.
