1973 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE, 1973 Ford Mustang convertible. Red/Black/Black. 351 Cobra Jet, Ram Air hood with hood latches, dual exhaust, C-6 automatic transmission, factory A/C, power steering, power brakes, tilt-steering, factory forged aluminum wheels, correct Firestone wide-oval tires, competition suspension, instrument group, and AM-FM, 8-track player. 77,000 miles are believed to be original. Marti report and original paperwork. This gorgeous Mustang has been beautifully restored, and judged several times by the Mustang Club of America. Additionally, it has been the subject of two magazine articles., Model History, In 1964, the Ford Motor Company stunned the car buyers of Main Street America with the introduction of a type of car that had been virtually ignored previously-the pony car. It was introduced at the New York Worlds Fair amid much fanfare and to further stoke the interest of buyers, Ford brought 35 of them to the Indianapolis 500! The Mustang captured the hearts and imagination of the American car buyers and was an instant hit. Buyers were in line outside dealers the day after the fair ended, and Ford eventually added 2 more plants to keep up with the overwhelming demand. Other automobile companies were forced to take notice, but they could only play catch-up. Some 44 years later, the Mustang still endears itself to the quintessential pony car buyer. Our 1973 is the very last of the earlier, collectible models.
