1980 MERCEDES BENZ 300TD, Bought this car on E-bay in August 06 for $5,595. This is a greasecar (see greasecar.com) and can run on vegetable oil. The car operates on diesel fuel and switches to vegetable oil if you use the second tank, but you can also just run the car on diesel. The engine is excellent and starts on every crank and runs well. The transmission sticks in the lower gears but shifts and operates fine. The air conditioning is not working. The body and interior are in very good shape, but there is some minor rust near the lower panels, but none under the body. The seats are in great shape. The windows go up and down no problem. The locks don't operate as they should, essentially manual from the outside, but once the car is running the locks will operate correctly. We have all the information from our purchase on E-bay and all the greasecar manual. This is a great car for the money and with a small investment could be exceptional. Neither of us are mechanics and we are not able to do any of these things ourselves and money is tight so we would prefer to sell the car. The price is $3,000, which is a great price for an operating greasecar, but especially a Mercedes greasecar. Please note, this is not a turbo diesel. The TD is for touring diesel.
