1949 CHEVROLET SEDAN DELIVERY, This is a very nice example of a fairly rare classic 1949 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery. It is not a truck. It is built on a car frame not a truck frame. Same size wheelbase as the cars produced in 1949 thru 1952. It was the first body change of a line of cars from 1949-to 1952. The first year of a body change Chevrolet never built many cars in the first year. (2537 of 8309 built in 1949) of this body style. Not a real popular body style in 1949. This car was only produced in 1949 and 1950. The rear fenders changed on later years. These were used in business for small delivery. This car has been frame on restored and is a quality ride. It is powered by a decked out 350 V8. The engine features a Edlebrock Durashine Performer intake with a Holley 650cfm zinc plated double pump carburetor, a GM HEI distributor with MSD wires, a set of metallic ceramic coated Hooker headers, a Vintage Air Front Runner serpentine pulley & belt system, a Detroit Speed power steering pump and a Tough Stuff high output 1 wire alternator. It also has a set of very nice ball milled chrome valve covers and a chrome K&N air cleaner with filter. The exhaust is run all the way out the rear of the vehicle through Flowmaster mufflers. The engine is connected to a Turbo 350 3 speed automatic transmission that shifts solid yet smooth. The car rides on a brand new set of 15x7 inch with 4 inch back space Cragar SS wheels with Michelin tires. The smooth ride is provided by a Mustang II front suspension made by Heidts. The front end has all new bushings, ball joints, etc. and 2 inch drop spindles. The car also has all new steering components including a new steering box and new Borgeson joints. The body is very straight and solid. It is covered in PPG Corvette Blue paint that has been buffed to a deep shine. It features some custom artwork on the rear door. (see below) All the original chrome and stainless are in place and are in good condition. The rear taillights are 39 Ford LEDs and look great in the daytime as well as at night. The headlights are Halogen Blue Dots and light your way very well. The exterior also has a cool looking original polished steel 1949 visor and working lake side pipes to give it that old custom look. The interior features gray leather bucket seats out of a Infinity luxury car. It also features a custom console which houses the AM/FM/CD stereo system and the Vintage Air air conditioner controls. The door panels and headliner are done in a matching gray cloth. And gray carpet covers the entire interior floor. Prior to the interior being done, the floor panels, side walls and firewall were painted with Lizard Skin heat barrier and then Dynamat added from the firewall to the rear door on the floor and within the doors to provide a comfortable interior cabin. You will find a Ididit tilt steering column and a very nice Grant banjo steering wheel.
