1928 FORD MODEL A DELUXE ROADSTER, The public got its first look at the all new Model A. The press heralded the event as one of the greatest of the century, and people flocked in droves to see the new car wherever it was displayed. A totally new car it was! Designated the Model A in order to divorce it entirely from the old Ford alphabetical sequence which had culminated in the Model T, the new car was capable of ground braking low speed performance, a 65 MPH top end and was offered in a multitude of colors and 6 distinct styles: a Tudor, a Fordor, two coupe versions, a Roadster, and a Phaeton. The Model A listed for sale is an amazing surviving example of the Open Top Roadster. Unprepared for the wild success of the Model As, early production models developed several problems which took Ford the better part of 1928 to resolve, not to mention the troubles within the company itself. By 1929, many of these things had been addressed and higher quality more dependable cars began rolling off the assembly lines. This 1928 Model A Roadster Pickup features a very nice restoration and is one of the nicest drivable examples available anywhere. The car always starts quickly and runs beautifully. Complete with dual sidemounts, cowl lights, Quail hood ornament and wind wings. Restored with a chromed radiator shell, black painted headlights and chrome cowl lights. Complete with new upholstery and top with new bows and irons. The motor is smooth and quiet and the transmission shifts through all gears with no issues. Built to be driven, this fine example of one of Fords most popular cars can be driven to shows, or just enjoyed on a nice Sunday afternoon. A Model-A in this condition is a truly rare find, for the collector of these American iconic automobiles, this is a unique opportunity.
