1965 FORD GALAXIE 500 XL, I purchased this vehicle 2-22-1971 from a dealer. I am the second owner of this beautiful red 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 XL 2 door convertible. Vin # 5U69Z157184. This vehicle was special ordered out of Pittsburgh, PA with a 4 speed in the console. Vehicle was built in Louisville, KY 3-22-1965. It has bucket seats with a factory 390 V8 engine-300HP (compression ratio 10.1:1). Engine has 75,370 original miles, 4 barrel carb, dual exhaust, and a glass back window that unzips. Vehicle is all orignal, except being stripped down and repainted back to orignal color. Top was replaced and back bumper rechromed, no body work. A few things wrong with this vehicle: streering wheel has a crack in it, and the clear coat is starting to raise between trunk lid and chrome around back window. Other specifactions on the vehicle are as follows: 119.0 wheelbase, 3.25:1 rear axel, 210.0 length, weight between 3497-4059. This vehicle is rare only 9,849 were made.
