1970 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS396, 1970 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS. This most sought after Chevelle is a true Super Sport. Built in Kansas City the 2nd week of Jan. 1970. Shipped to Topeka Kansas where it spent most of it's life time. 97,000 pampered miles, this car has all it's original drive train and components. Basically every number matches. Rebuilt orig. 396/350hp w/approx. 6000 miles since the overhaul. All the sheet metal, floors, trunk pan are in excellent condition and are orig. Only a single repaint w/orig. paint in the hood, door and trunk jams. Untouched orig. interior including the carpet. Strato bucket seats w/console with staple shifter, factory air that works. Full tinted glass is orig. except the windshield was replaced. Am radio plays. PS, PFDB, F41 suspension 3.31 axle ratio, glove box light, recessed wipers, wheelhouse moldings, roof drip rails and Firestone F70X14 wheels, trim rings and center caps are original. Taking a closer look under the hood, completely detailed like it was just out of the showroom. New orig. style R59 battery, date coded spark plug wires, GM hoses, belts and orig. style clamps. Refinished several years ago, the car still has a high gloss shine to it. Proper fitting doors, hood, deck lid, straight body line with no waves. Extra nice orig. chrome bumpers, trim and stainless. Even the interior sill plates are original. The trunk has the factory spare tire and jack. The only reproduction on this car is the trunk mat, battery and spark plug wires. We've had a chance to drive this car several hundred miles. No rattles, squeaks or clunks. Very tight, shifts smooth, lots of power when you tromp on the accelerator. Comes with three orig. build sheets, sales order. All the casting #'s date codes are decoded for anyone interested. The underside is impeccable, highly detailed throughout. Orig. style Gardner exhaust w/dual muffler and resinators like the factory would have installed. If you're a purest, you'll want to take a close look at this Chevelle SS...again, they are only original once!
