1958 PORSCHE SPEEDSTER, 1958 356 Porsche Speedster, Chassis #84514. This special Speedster is a very late example, produced just 407 cars from the end of Speedster production. It has been a Western-States car most of its life, in the Phoenix, Arizona area and more recently in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This car has never had a rust problem. This car is Kardex correct with matching body [#84514], engine [#68550 616/1] and transmission numbers [#18236] as well as matching original colors of Silver Metallic [#5706] body with Red interior. The total mileage shown of 78,378 is believed to be correct. 356 Services in Santa Clarita, California completed a very careful and through restoration in May of 2004. The restoration included bare-metal body work with lead used for all the gaps and panel fit. The original engine was rebuilt with all late-model internal components and forged aluminum big-bore pistons and cylinders. This engine is rated at about 105 HP. The transmission was also completely rebuilt including three new gear sets and all new bearings and syncro rings. Both the engine and transmission are fully detailed as per original. This Speedster has less than 3,000 miles on it since restoration and it runs and drives exceptionally well. Inquire for more details.
