1956 PONTIAC STAR CHIEF, Notes... Restored Pontiac StarChief Strato-Streak 4-Door Hardtop Pontiac?s Prestige model for 1956 w/ strato-flight Hydra-matic transmission After 23 years in a barn, all it took was a new battery and some fresh gas to drive it away. Along with this beautifully restored StarChief, we also include many additional pieces of chrome trim, two extra steering wheels and the orignal illuminated Indian head hood ornament. Original mileage 57,606 Completely rebuilt Engine: V-8 227 hp Strato-streak Though the engine was in good running condition, 23 idle years can do a number on seals and hoses, so it has been totally rebuilt. Stored in a dry barn in Pickens, SC. The original owner had thought of restoring it himself until his health declined. He decided to sell it. A frame-up restoration. There was very little rust, before restoration. The car was completely dismantled, sanded and carefully repainted in two-tone teal and white. Restoration is 95% complete Frame and exterior: Local car, from Pickens, SC no rust, no bondo Professionally painted New gaskets Gas tank cleaned and lined, new filters and lines. Repacked wheel bearings. Rechromed. New tires New shocks New brakes and lines. High capacity radiator. Interior: The interior has been re-carpeted and reupholstered. New headliner. Original radio is with the car, but is not installed. It is wired for vintage look AM/FM CD. What?s left to do: Replace some chrome trim ? all trim is included and in perfect condition. Install new steering wheel ? 2 additional included with car: one original in fine condition with Indian head in the center and a second new replacement. Replace original radio (included) or install vintage-look digital AM/FM CD. The car is wired for both. Last year of the hood chrome sweeps. Second owner ? comes with original title. VIN Available.
