1968 CHEVROLET EL CAMINO SS396, 1968 Chevrolet ElCamino SS396 in stunning Grotto Blue with a black vinyl top, Bright Blue interior, and factory Rallye wheels. Absolutely beautiful, show quality, matching numbers, high option air SS396 from California with the Protect-O-Plate, Owner's Manual, and maintenance records through the years. The original 396 / 350 horse engine is 100% factory original & unmodified and is still fitted with the original air pump and emission controls, factory Rochestor Quadrajet carburetor, factory cast iron intake manifold, factory exhaust manifolds, factory aircleaner assembly, and still has the matching numbers VIN clearly stamped into the block. Fires right up and settles into a lopey idle with deep exhaust note from the correct dual exhaust. Runs nicely on pump gas and there are no mechanical issues; no smoke, no leaks, no noises. Pulls HARD through the rev range and runs like a SS396 should. The matching numbers Turbohydramatic 400 automatic transmission shifts perfectly and the factory 3.36 12-bolt rearend provides relaxed high speed cruising. Power steering and power brakes for safe easy cruising. Beautiful Bright Blue interior completely professionally reupholstered using correct Legendary parts & materials. Brand new seat covers, brand new seat padding, brand new inner door panels, brand new headliner. Factory Rallye gauges for Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, & Amps. Factory 7000 RPM in-dash tachometer. Factory three spoke SS steering wheel. Excellent dash pad with no sunfade and no warping. Factory AM radio still in place. Power windows, operate smoothly and quickly. Ice cold factory air conditioning. Lovely body with no dents, no dings, no waves. Factory perfect panel fit and I can find no signs of body damage or body repair anywhere. Show quality paint in the correct Grotto Blue done in modern PPG base/clear and block sanded & repeatedly polished to a smooth glossy shine. No nicks, no chips, no flaws; and this is a very attractive color especially when offset by the satin black SS trim. Excellent front & rear chrome bumpers. Excellent brightwork and stainless steel trim. Excellent glass and all windows operate smoothly, including the crank operated vents. Excellent window whiskers and weatherstripping. Excellent bed that apparently has never been used and the tailgate operates easily. Correct Power Bulge SS hood. Excellent black vinyl top with no bumps underneath. Excellent factory Rallye wheels fitted with correct Firestone Red Line Wide Ovals. Dual mirrors. Just professionally detailed, polished, hand waxed, and turnkey ready for cruises and shows. Runs & drives perfectly. Documentation includes the California license plates, original Protect-O-Plate, original Owner's Manual, and maintenance records through the years.
