1967 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MKIII, 1967 Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 in Olde English White with Black leather. This big Healey was built on February 6, 1967. It was purchased in 1988 and brought to Arizona in 1991 by the previous owner (its only a 3 owner car). It went through a complete professional rotisserie restoration which was completed in 1992 - less than 15,000 miles ago. The car was restored specifically to be driven in the Copperstate 1000 Road Rally, which the previous owner entered and finished 6 times starting in 1993. This car is almost perfect! During the original restoration, the engine, transmission and overdrive were completely rebuilt with documentation. A heavy duty oil pump was installed and the radiator was enlarged and cored for cooler operation. A new rear axle and leaf springs were installed. The car has a stainless steel exhaust, Petronix electronic ignition, stainless fuel tank, halogen headlamps, spin on oil filter and a new battery that has been converted to negative ground. A complete interior and exterior restoration was just accomplished. There is absolutely no rust anywhere on the car, verified by the painter who stripped it completely prior to repainting it with the high-quality coat it wears now. The door and kick panels, padded dash and console are brand new. The top is in new condition, as are the tonneau and boot covers. The front seats were replaced by the previous owner and the rear buckets and panels are original and in great shape. The interior was stripped to bare metal, repainted and new Heritage carpet was installed. The footwells and transmission tunnel were lined with Dynamat for cooler interior temperatures. The roll up windows were replaced as were the door and top seals. The beautiful wood dash panels are perfect and all of the instruments have been totally restored. The original steering wheel has been replaced by a MotoLita wood-rimmed wheel. It has a brand new AM/FM/CD radio and a new badge bar in front of the grill. Five Dunlop 72 spoke chrome wire wheels have been recently fitted and are wrapped in Kumho radials and tubes. The owner's handbook, factory manual and car cover are included along with a BMIHT certificate. The gentleman who owned this car previous to us traveled 4,000 miles in this car since May of 2000 and experienced no problems. The engine and transmission oil has been changed and the cooling system has been flushed once a year. This car is a superb example of a mechanically perfect Healey that was just professionally painted and could be a gold medal concours winner with very little work. This is a very original car with no damage history. It is a head-turner, and if you want a dependable driver as well as a great looking British Sports Car, this is the one.
