1940 LINCOLN ZEPHYR, 1940 Lincoln Zephyr Continental Cabriolet Chassis Number: H103724 1 of only 30 known restored examples in existence! Of 351 cabriolets hand-built in Fords aircraft construction facility during 1940, company records show that this car -the 305th- was completed on May 6th, 1940, and dispatched to St. Louis Missouri on May 19, 1940. A thorough restoration began in 1995 and stretched into the new millennium. Restoration work included a bare metal lacquer repaint, full leather interior to factory pattern, new Haartz canvas top and tonneau cover and a complete mechanical rebuild. It is painted in the authentic 1940 Zephyr color of Capri Blue Metallic. McCall Motorsports of Monterey recently did a thorough detail and the car is currently prepared for showing at club events and open road touring. An owners manual, repair book, authenticity manual, lubrication charts and other factory literature, including original color chips and parts brochure, will be included in the sale of the car. Of the original production of 351 cars, Lincoln specialists estimate about 60 cabriolets exist and that only 30 of them are in restored condition. Of that select group, this car surely has to be among the best examples existing with its correct restoration and pleasing appearance. It is a full Classic Car Club of America Classic and is eligible for events and activities of the Antique Automobile Club of America, the Lincoln and Continental Owners Club and the Lincoln Zephyr Owners Club. Shown at the club level, this Zephyr Continental will be much appreciated and will score very well.
