1971 DODGE CHALLENGER, 1971 Dodge Challenger S.E. showcar with a spectacular multi-color paintjob, custom tube grille, rear spoiler, side pipes, and chrome wheels with only 43,962 miles, built as a custom back in the '70s and used on the show circuit since. The original 318 has been replaced with a high performance 340 that has a hot street cam, Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, Holley 625cfm DualFeed carburetor, Doug Thorley headers, and Challenger T/A side pipes. Fires right up and settles into a lopey idle with that great sounding cam and an aggressive exhaust note from the side pipes. NAILS YOU BACK IN THE SEAT WHEN YOU PUNCH IT, PULLS HARD THROUGH THE REV RANGE, AND RUNS LIKE A BUILT 340 SHOULD!! The 727 Torqueflite automatic shifts perfectly and the 3.55 positraction rearend provides strong acceleration while allowing relaxed cruising. Runs nicely on pump gas and there are no mechanical issues; no smoke, no leaks, no noises. Power steering and power disc brakes for safe easy driving. Very nice interior with the factory bucket seats, center console, and SlapStik floor shifter. Brand new seat covers front & rear, a brand new full carpet kit, and custom quilted black velvet headliner. Factory Rallye gauges with the 150 mph speedometer, 8,000 RPM Tachometer, Oil Pressure/Water Temp/Ammeter/& Fuel gauges - and all work properly. Original dash in nice condition but has several small cracks around the speaker. Dual Sport mirrors with remote. Excellent body with no dents, no dings, no waves. All gaps are factory perfect and panel fit is excellent. STUNNING PAINT in 15 different colors with fades, stripes, different metallics, stars, trucker ladies, lettering, etc. all done back in the '70s and still holding up very well. There are several small chips and several small areas of checking but still show quality with a deep luster, glossy finish, and never fails to draw a crowd. The more you look, the more detail you see. Custom tube grill concealing the headlights. Custom painted engine bay in gold candy metalflake. Custom rear spoiler. Factory Rallye hood with the scoops. Factory Challenger T/A side exhausts. Factory Quik-Flip gas filler. Small rear window. Custom rear spoiler. Chrome Cragar wheels fitted with P215-70-14 front and P255-60-15 rear Dunlop raised-white-letter radials. Just professionally detailed, polished, hand waxed, and turnkey ready for cruises and shows. Runs and drives perfectly. Has been featured in Car Craft magazine back in the '80s and has recently been photographed for an upcoming issue of HotRod magazine. VERY INTERESTING CAR!!
