1969 MERCURY COUGAR XR-7, 1969 Mercury XR7 CJ 428 2dr. hardtop. Now we are talking rare. This low mileage Cougar is a Ram Air R code 428 V8 XR7. Excellent body, runs great. C-6 automatic, 3.00 gears, Cougar rallye wheels and most unusual of all painted a special order color cat the factory of light non-metallic Green, a color usually found on the big Mercury Marquis sedans. Most likely a Ford executive car. It is loaded with luxury options., watch for more photos and text in a few days. The Marti Report tells us the car was: Built in Dearborn, Michigan on January 28, 1969 and delivered to Main Lincoln-Mercury in San Antonia, texas on February 10, 1969. Options included: Black Vinyl top, F70x14 white letter tires, power windows, ram air, console, power front disc brakes, power steering, tilt-away steering wheel, Air conditioning, Am/Fm Stereo, tinted glass, deluxe seat belts with warning light, door edge guards, and front bumper guards. The car ordered from the Dallas Ordering District under special order. Only 216 similar Cougars where built with the non-existant paint code. Only 365 where built with this engine/transmission code and a total of only 504 Ram Air cars were ordered. We sure would like to know the story behind this special order vehicle.
