1985 MERCEDES BENZ 500SEL, I have just under $15000 in receipts for repairs in the past two years, not including the purchase price. No accidents or major engine problems, just nickel-and-dimed to death by all the small maintenance necessities of a 23 year old car. I use fully synthetic Mobil 1 15/50 oil and Chevron gas. All the amenities available in the top of the line automobile Mercedes made in 1985 are here. This car runs like new in just about all facets. I am the third owner, the previous two being family friends (to each other, not to me). I have dealer inspection stamps going back to 1985, and receipts from 1991 on. This car has been very well cared for, and is worth every penny you'll pay. The paint is less than five years old, the tires have plenty of wear left, and the A/C is ice cold. A few minor things to note that detract from the value of this fine auto are a scratch on the front left bumper (estimate from the body shop of $580 for repaint of the bumper) and a dent behind the rear driver door ($200 from the dent doctor folks). The driver seat rails are binding a little, but the seat moves just fine ($240 from my mechanic). Here's a fairly complete list of the major things I've replaced or repaired (in reverse chronological order) since March 2006: washer pump; passenger seat pouch; door moulding driver side; rear ABS speed sensor; A/C idler pulley; A/C recharge; radiator expansion tank; O2 sensor; wires, rotor, cap; rear brake rotors; radiator; steering shock; timing chain, chain rail, and tensioner; all five dashboard vacuum elements; front ABS speed sensors; ignition tumbler; both front safety belts; window switch and regulator; heater mono valve; injector service; transmission seal kit; trunk carpeting; fuel tank; idle control unit; all engine belts. I've left out some things that add up very quickly. Please call with any questions and make me an offer.
