1970 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS, (1404) 455 C.I./365++ H.P. pro sleeper (new category) automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, power antenna, AM/FM stereo, tint glass, and factory ice cold A/C. 1970 was the peak of the horsepower wars between the big three automakers. The insurance companies were charging huge premiums for the muscle cars and were making it non-affordable for most people to own and drive their hot rods. Oldsmobile hit one out of the park in 1970 by offering up the Cutlass SX, a luxury muscle car and gentlemens hot rod rolled into one. By NOT using 442 stripes badges and using a flat hood instead of the induction hood they were able to fool the insurance companies into thinking it was just a plain old grandma, grandpa Cutlass. (Wrong!!!) With about 500 ft. lbs of torque 10.25 compression ratio. It was a real axel twister and would be one of the last of the real killer big bore V8s. All riding on BF Goodrich radials mounted on factory SS II wheels with trim rings and center caps. This ultra rare stealth fighter is built with all the right stuff. One of the most unique and trickiest setups on this rocket launcher is a mega dollar custom handmade exhaust system. BIG tube stainless aluminized pipes plumbed through a motorized dump system that allows you to open the exhaust system with a flip of the switch from the inside. Picture yourself sitting at a light next to one of those 5.0 Mustangs with a smart aleck kid saying nice car Dad. Well flip the switch, stab the gas, and hang on for dear life. (Yeah its got BIG!!! Stones.) If and when the Mustang ever catches up you have already backed it down and flipped the switch to quiet exhaust. He will be yelling what the hell is in that thing?
