1960 PLYMOUTH FURY, 1960 PLYMOUTH FURY CONVERTIBLE, These have to be one of the all time great American classic cars built with total extravagance and style. Every where you look it is just full of style and outrageousness. Stylists must surely have had space age in mind with these designs. Start at the front, the grille and bumper rolling to the sides into this fantastic sculptured fender panel that rolls into the wheel wells that have outstanding chrome mouldings, then move back along the sides with more great chrome, on to the rear wheel well and again great chrome, with chrome skirts and then a full ribbed chrome panel back to the bumper. Now head to the fins and these have to be as cool as any offered by anyone, and dont miss the modest Red, White and Blue 6 = inch Plymouth logo, then on to the fake spare wheel mounted in to the trunk lid. Dont forget to check out the wheels, they are superb looking Kelsey Heyes style Chrome wires. It doesnt end there so now lets move to the interior, look at that awesome square (Aero) steering wheel with the very flash horn lever in the center and half Gold opaque look and the seats, not just power but each side swivels for easy access. The floating instrument cluster is again just as cool and zoomy as you can wish for and it still has an original style working AM HI FI radio as its called. Check out the windshield from the side view as well, Plymouth called it the bubble canopy windshield that has an extra curve to it at the top. Windows are power operated as is the convertible top. Power steering and power brakes are also part of the package. This car has had a pretty major restoration, taking it to a very nice standard and something you can be very proud of, let alone be the envy of many. The owner who performed the restoration utilized two cars that he owned, a coupe that was an original Los Angeles built rust free California car and a convertible that was a rust bucket to make one convertible. Power comes from the Chrysler work horse 318 cubic inch V8 coupled to an automatic transmission with the infamous push button operating controls. Finished in a stunning combination of a Turquoise Blue metallic with Oyster White in the front sculptured area of the front fenders.
