1956 FORD MAINLINE, 1956 Ford Mainline Tudor Sedan with deluxe two-tone paint in Meadow Mist Green and Colonial White. As a matter of fact the 2-tone paint is the only option on this car. Radio and heater were not ordered on this car. No turn signals either. It has a brand new set of correct 5 B.F. Goodrich, black walls bias tires from Coker Tire on painted rims with small dog dish hubcaps. This car is sooooo plain, it is wonderful. A plain Jane for sure but that is the car's charm. Sort of a race car look even. Spectacular condition throughout. We recently had the Seafoam Green repainted to a high surprising high qualtiy, The interior is bone stock right down to the rubber floor mats instead of carpet. The seats were reupholstered by a previous owner in a non-stock pattern as we are sure the exact pattern for a Mailine is not available. It looks nice however and very appropriate for the vehicle. The trunk and engine compartments are spotless. The I-block six and 3-speed manual transmission work excellently. New for 1956 was the twelve-volt electrical system. And Ford was really promoting its Y-Block V-8 that year, but many of the cars were still sold with the standard 223-cid six. Prices at Ford ranged from $2185 to $2533. You might want to drop in that supercharged 312 you have out in the garage...just for fun show those "black widow" '57 Chevy's in your neighborhood a thing or two.
